Oakdale Cemetery - News and Events Winter 2009 Our second annual Christmas Eve Luminary Celebration was a huge success. Thanks to the many hours of work by volunteers, 2000 bags were filled with sand and a candle. Then other volunteers placed them along all our roadways. At 5:30 PM all the volunteers gathered at the office for a prayer service and holiday refreshments.  Then everyone went out and lit the 2000 candles in less than 30 minutes! The candles remained lit until 11:30 PM. Many people drove through the cemetery and everyone commented on how beautiful the cemetery was with all the lights. Thanks to Lankford Funeral Home for our candles, and the refreshments.
